It's pretty soft and drinkable. Actually one of my favorite Bowmores that were once a regular bottling. Very good!

This soap has a relatively restrained feel, and the flavor is interesting and has a distinctive, vintage character. ???? However, the flavor ceiling is limited, the finish is relatively short, and the complexity is limited, so the price and quality of the wine do not fully match.

A pleasant, fresh, iodine note with floral undertones. Violet and lavender are prominent, but this time it's not unpleasant. It's a touch chemical, but the iodine helps balance it out. The peat is a bit heavy, but discreet. Sea spray, icing sugar. A mint lozenge to freshen the breath. Herbal at the end, a hint of licorice. On the palate, it's light and slightly peppery. Again, it balances out after a while, with a slight bitterness, grapefruit, asparagus, spinach, and vanilla in the background. The finish is light but quite long, still bitter, drying, with notes of cola nut, wood, chestnut, and chocolate. It's no coincidence that traffic jams back then had a terrible reputation. I had to get used to this one, not as straight forward as other Islay drams like Ardbeg, but one to keep trying over and over again. It took me about 5 tries, and the first time I hated the explosion of salt in the taste, but now it's one of my favourite drams.

It has a relatively oily viscosity and a fairly intense bouquet. I get aromas of pleasant, maritime peat smoke, vanilla, citrus, and nut. Not particularly complex. A good balance between sweetness and dryness in terms of flavor. The alcohol is very well integrated, and it has a relatively heavy body.
