I love Glen Moray, very good but a very big underdog in the whiskyworld. This Glen Moray “Our Classic” reads like a whisky that prioritizes accessibility and smoothness over depth or complexity, but it has everything that it needs to have... Everything about it is designed to be easy to approach: the nose is gently sweet and fruity, the palate stays soft and uncomplicated, and the finish bows out without much resistance or lingering weight. It’s coherent and pleasant, but it doesn’t evolve much in the glass or demand attention. In essence, it feels like a straightforward, friendly Speyside dram that’s more about easy sipping than exploration or surprise. But, well made and very drinkable!

Vanilla sits at the centre like spun sugar dissolving into warm milk, while gentle orchard fruit drifts in around it— mmmm, very good.... think ripe apples and faint pear skin rather than anything dense or jammy. There’s a light malted cereal note underneath, giving it a clean, slightly biscuity foundation, and just a touch of fresh oak that stays polite and restrained rather than woody or tannic. |

Fruit appears again but stays understated—more stewed apple and mild citrus peel than bold fruit compote. The bourbon cask influence shows itself in a simple, friendly wave of sweetness and gentle oak, with everything arranged in a straightforward, uncluttered line rather than layers that unfold dramtically. But it's a bit watery and there is not so much evolution in the glass, so overall: very drinkable but maybe a bit flat. |

The nose, palate and finish are superficial and plain. There is no depth at this level and price, but that's to be expected. Even those who don't like whisky can drink it. It's a very pleasant, easy to drink, delicious, very balanced and clean whisky for the price. It doesn't taste any different from some 12-year-old whiskies, but compared to them, it's more affordable and has a high performance-to-price ratio.
