"A Whisky to Enjoy by Its Aroma?" The aroma was truly exceptional, but the unexpectedly strong astringency in the palate was surprising. If the taste had followed the nose, it would have received high praise; however, there’s a tinge of disappointment.

Though there’s a hint of prickly alcohol, it’s not overly unpleasant and rather whets the appetite.

Nose: medium intensity and not much going on, but nothing is missing - sweet and a bit bitter, dominated by dark, dried fruits such as cherries/cherry skin, dates, distinct vanilla, nuts/almonds with floral-citrus notes in the background. 86.0 Tongue: quite light and sweet, a huge dose of dessert chocolate is added to the elements already present in the aroma, as well as a pleasant countering peppery spiciness. 86.5 Finish: medium to short - sherry, cocoa, pepper. 85.5 86.5

Great. But slightly more bitter compared to previous batches. This one is a mix of woody bitters, sherry and dried fruit festival explosion with syrupy marimba and cooked mash espresso vibes.

Raisins again after some oxidation; more wood, more raisins, more sweetness. And then... some interwoven woody bitters.

N: dusty curtains! Solvent, lemon, red berries, woody T: beautiful mouthfeel, at cask strength is shippable but hard to discern specific flavours. With water, the red fruits come right out, very little spice from the spirit, Turkish delight appears. Medium long finish that remains sweet for a long while.

Batch 8/9 Vertical Batch 9 Overall Review: "Dark Sherry Bomb that pretended to be a sweet and sour Sherry Bomb" If you add a little water, the dark feeling is slightly adjusted and the balance is much better. The stimulation is slightly more prominent, but personally, I think it shows a variety of layers as the sweetness and sourness come to life. If you are not satisfied with batch 9, I recommend adding a little water. If you add water to around 40%, the dark feeling is mostly adjusted and only a slight nuance remains. The harmony of sweetness, sourness, and spice seems to get better as the alcohol content goes down. In the case of spice, there are times when it is excessive, but it shows a momentary stimulation like pepper or garlic and gradually subsides, so it might be good to find your taste by adding water. Total score: 86.3

The bitter and oily nuance of nuts spreads as if eating nut shells together, and the sweetness, like a mixture of brown sugar and toffee, is strongly felt. The sweetness is mixed with a little licorice nuance, making it feel even darker. The sourness of orange blends appropriately to balance it out, and the spice of cloves and nutmeg and the slightly dark oakiness create complexity without being too sweet or sour. The rich vanilla nuance adds even more richness to the scent. However, rather than being delicate, it is composed of a scent that hits strongly like a river shot. 03/02/2024 - 30 ml + 20 ml reduced by 43% It seemed to me like a typical ex-bourbon with spices and acetic notes. Bad value for money in Brazil with independent imports.

Нос	82	Lemon, vanilla, caramel on first impression. Then comes malt, non-alcoholic spice, slightly citrus and some baked bread. Honey, propolis, spices such as cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg. It has an intriguing note, I think like caramelized dried fruit and lemon zest and ice cream flakes. With water it increases the vanilla and extinguishes the alcohol, but it is still hot. Sweet spices. Reduced to 43% it became mentholated, vanilla and tutti-frutti.

0953-GLENALLACHIE 10 yo CASK STRENGTH BATCH 9 SPEYSIDE SINGLE MALT SCOTCH Whisky 58.1%. ...I must admit, it's been a while since I've had such a cohesive distillate: nose, mouthfeel, finish—it all works together. The whole thing is quite intense, complex, and, importantly, digestible. Although, it must be admitted, this isn't a drink for everyday consumption. It's more of a once-in-a-while drink, or for special occasions or tributes. It's very interesting.
