В текстовых отзывах неоднократно повторяются мотивы мягкости, сладости и лёгкости: его называют «good balance and quite easy drinkable», «very soft and sweet», «mild, quite sweet, fruity», «elegant», «very drinkable and pleasant». В аромате и вкусе чаще всего упоминаются мёд, ваниль, карамель, фрукты (яблоко, груша, цитрус, тропические ноты, персик), орехи, шоколад, специи и лёгкие дымные/торфяные оттенки. Финиш описывают по-разному — от среднего и тёплого до короткого и слабого; некоторые прямо говорят о «medium long», другие — о «short to medium» или «far too short».
При этом заметна и критическая линия: ряд отзывов указывает на водянистость и слабую интенсивность («watery», «very weak», «thin», «lacking depth», «not very complex»), а также на то, что для 18-летнего виски ожидалось больше выразительности.

Johnnie Walker 18 year old BSW, 40%. 30ml sample at home, July 2022. Very dark golden. It could conceivably be natural, but I very much doubt that it is. Aroma is musty refill casks, powdered chalk, some waxy citrus, opening up to pineapple cube sweets and gummy bears. Starts with musty wood and opens up into tropical fruit juice. Over time it becomes musty again. A mixed bag. Body is watery. Taste is salty and musty up front, some fruits in the middle and charred on the finish and linger. Not underpowered despite the low abv. The oak becomes a little yoghurty over time unfortunately. Impression of crystalline grain whisky seasoned with musty oaky malts. Then that lactic pungency. This is a mixed bag. Not bad, not great. I like the style of JW blends but I don't like the 'milky' impression and some of the musty casks that have partly been used here. Ok stuff though. 3.35/80
I'm not sure if it's a storage condition problem or if it's just the way it is, but overall, the intensity of the scent and taste is very weak. The advantage is that anyone can drink it comfortably. Since I didn't purchase the bottle, I wasn't sure what the condition was, so I adjusted the score to some extent.

| Нос | 71 | The scent is very cloying. - Green apple: Apple scent reminiscent of a refreshing apple rather than a sweet apple - Caramel: Sweet caramel scent accompanied by apple scent - Vanilla: Vanilla leaves with only a slight hint of caramel smell. - Flowers: Afterward, you can feel the freshness of flowers along with the feeling of slightly hitting acetone. - Cookie dough: As the freshness of flowers continues, it becomes sweeter and closer to the smell of soft cookie dough before baking. Cookie dough that seems to be filled with sugar and butter. - Smokey: Is it slightly smokier than vanilla? is not it? A smoky feel that makes you want to - Sherry: I can't choose a specific fruit, but it reminds me of the sweet, creamy taste of sherry whiskey. N Overall review: There is something about the scent that is very weak. It's not that there's a lack of layers, but I feel like a detective finding scents at half the strength of other whiskeys. |
| Вкус | 73 | - Salt: As soon as it enters your mouth, you can feel the salty taste, and from then on, it goes back and forth with a kick, contributing to the variety of layers. - Smoke: There is a slight smokiness, but it feels weaker than Johnnie Walker Blue. - Green apple: You can feel the taste of fresh apple, but there is also a sourness mixed with a little lemon. - Oak: There is a unique oak scent and a slight bitterness, but it is mostly masked by the apple scent. - Honey: When you eat a honey apple, it tastes sweet for an instant along with the scent of apple. Along with salt, it gives pleasure with its sweet and salty taste. - Cream: Rather than a taste, it has a fairly soft texture. - Vanilla: A bit of vanilla that appears without fail. It's not explicit, just a hint. P Overall Review: Following the aroma, there are various layers of taste, but it feels like something is missing. The strength itself is quite weak. |
| Финиш | 76 | The finish is also quite weak, and is of short to medium length. - Green apples: Feel the refreshing sweet and sour taste of green apples - Oak: It has an oak scent and a slightly astringent feeling. - Vanilla: Characteristic vanilla scent that is much more noticeable than NP - Salt: Here again, it gives a slightly salty taste and forms a layer, creating a sweet (slightly salty) taste. F Overall Review: Maybe it's just the way it is, but the finish actually has the strongest flavor. It creates a sweet-salty-sweet-salty flavor based on the slight sourness and apple flavor that can be felt from apples. |

| Нос | 85 | light fruits, initially some alcohol, apple/pear, fruit juice, citrus, freshly brewed coffee/coffee grounds, malt, pineapple? |
| Вкус | 81 | "Wood water", very sweet & tart, fresh fig, honey, chestnut / chestnuts, orange, herbs, clove |
| Финиш | 83 | some smoke?, wood, chestnut stays long |
Very soft and sweet with a touch of smoke
Freshly uncorked, it was quickly present, but gained in complexity the longer it breathed in the glass. Fruit, vanilla sweetness, some chocolate and a light spiciness. Hardly anything to guess from the grain content, no bitterness, no sprightliness. The oak note is well integrated, the 40% make it a palatable and uncomplicated all-night dram. Without a doubt the best blend I've had so far. Maintained this level for all fellow tasters over a 32 day period.

Quick hit review. Whisky calendar - Day 8. Oh, look how posh we are today! Diageo at its finest. Appealing and well-composed, the nose interweaves honey, fennel and gingerbread with pineapple, marzipan and distant peat. On the palate, brown sugar, orange jam and hints of smoke mingle with aromatic, chocolaty and earthy notes. The moderate finish subsides with almonds, red apples and a dash of salt. I hate to say it, but this Johnnie Walker is pretty decent. RATING: 3.5/5.0 stars ≙ 84 pts → ABOVE AVERAGE
Color - golden yellow; Nose - first and foremost wood, herbs, a hint of smoke, a tiny hint of vanilla, bitter notes like grapefruit or apple seeds; Taste - starts creamy and vanilla with typical Highlander notes, followed by woody, very tasty; Finish - stays long and flat and very pleasant, this is a very nice and tasty whiskey, but at around €70 it's too expensive for me

It feels like Dalwhinnie mixed with a bit of grain whisky and peat? The main notes are honey and light blue fruit, with weak peat. However, considering the price, the distinctive taste of grain whisky is unpleasantly strong.

For the money (50 €) and in this yearbook it is an excellent blend that you won't buy anywhere else. Very mild, quite sweet, fruity with a smoky haze at the very end, makes me crave for another dram.

Quick review. Advent calendar 8.12. Johnnie Walker... whisky's equal to Coca Cola, everyone has heard about it. It used to be the Red and Black, but now there's so many special and "limited" editions that you can't really know what you are getting any more. Probably the main reason why I haven't bought a bottle in at least 25 years. This I actually will consider.

| Нос | 84 | Promising nose. What I would call "firm". Some sweetness covered in a light blanket of smoke. Fresh soft ginger cake. Unnoticeable alc, little to no grain, actually quite complex for a blend. |
| Вкус | 86 | Again I get that "firm and solid feel". Not bad at all. The arrival is sweet, and the sweetness carries all the way through. There's oranges with a bit of bitter zest, like the jam that have pieces of the peel. Dark chocolate and a few almonds. |
| Финиш | 87 | As I said the sweetness carries on into the finish. Chocolate and almonds tag along too. Surprisingly long. This would make for a pretty good after dinner dram. |

| Нос | 86 | Beautifully composed, on the one hand salt, gently peaty waves, but also oily malt, fruity sherry, honey, nuts and slightly metallic reflections. |
| Вкус | 85 | Aromatic entry with gentle peat smoke, sherry, nuts, honey, some dried fruit, leather, earth and metallic accents. |
| Финиш | 85 | Long, peaty, nutty, salty. |
The aroma is okay, delicate, the sweetness of fruit, a little honey. Delicate, almost inconspicuous and therefore not very enjoyable. The taste is fruity, the sweetness of fruit, slightly toasted apples, spices and I don't know, I'm just bored, normally my thoughts fly away somewhere during tasting. It's inconspicuous, boring, uninteresting. It doesn't matter, basically you can't deduct points for mistakes, but it's all inconspicuous boredom. From eighteen I would expect some expression, some body, some experience. You can take your time with it, but why would you do that. I finished the glass and I don't even know. It's so refined and at the same time complexly balanced that it's totally boring and I couldn't even express it.
Overall, a good whisky. But it does feel a little watery on the palate, probably due to the low abv.

Can't say this one does anything wrong per se. Even the grain whisky does not show up much in taste or smell. It's balanced and the nose is really soothing imho. The taste is pleasant, but also unprecise and though the finish lingers a bit - making it better than most younger blends @ 12 years - the whole development is rather short and simplistic, especially for the age. Short: Would not rejected if sb bought it for me at a bar, but see no need to engage it on my own with so many better malts at better price/performance ratio at hand, JW Green Label included.
Quite good for a blend, but not as fine and complex as I would have expected from an 18 year old
#015 Johnnie Walker Ultimate 18 yo Blended Scotch Whiskey 40% It's nice here and there. I'd love to try more but when the bottle runs out, I'll look for another one.
Buy again? No Recommend? No Drink if offered? Yes
You can drink it for about 50 €, especially since it gives 200ml extra ...
Probably my first Johnnie Walker ever. You can definitely see his age. But it lacks a resounding character. Smell, taste and finish are pleasing, but boring, without rough edges. Even if the dram was really not bad, I wouldn't recognize it today - a day after the tasting.

They are whisky's designed for different occuptions, this fits into the cold night categorie, to keep the cold chill at bay while sitting and relaxing before going to bed or in bed, you pick? You need to let this whisky sit in the mouth for a good while before you can appreciate the long finish, otherwise it's quite a short finish. For the price and age, it's one of the better 18 available and very enjoyable. The 2nd or 3rd best JW core expression available.

The best of the classic range, if you discover Johnnie Walker, savor and stop here because only disappointment awaits you beyond. Use your 180€ for a real whiskey and taste the blue at a friend's, you will thank me then.
To my great pleasure, I feel a subtle hint of smoke in the aroma, but also a distinct sweetness and alcoholiness similar to a box of chocolates with an alcohol filling. I would blindly guess a rum cask finish for this whiskey... Otherwise, the aroma is a bit flat and empty. The taste is similar to the aroma and the finish is quite dry and chocolate bitter....
Decent stuff. There's an elegance here that I quite enjoy, but the low abv doesn't do the Johnnie Walker 18 Years much justice.

Overall, it's a very light, clean-drinking, weak-bodied, watery, and syrupy whisky. While the nose is somewhat more satisfying and balanced, the palate and finish are sweet, like fruit juice; however, this can of course vary from person to person. In my opinion, it's nothing particularly special in terms of flavor and texture. It's a pleasant whisky that can be enjoyed back-to-back every day without complaint. But not at this price.

| Нос | 81 | The nose is balanced, neither sweet nor spicy, I'd say right in the middle. The scent of aged oak barrels is prominent. There are also hints of straw, grain, and caramel. Creamy vanilla and light malt notes are present, along with subtleties of lemon and unripe apple. (The aromas are not overpowering.) |
| Вкус | 80 | On the palate, it's slightly sweeter and smoother, with a syrupy consistency. It evokes notes of vanilla, caramel, honey, a hint of sweet grain and malt, light yellow citrus fruits like orange and mandarin, and a touch of pear. |
| Финиш | 78 | Initially, I detect a sweetness reminiscent of caramelized sugar, vanilla, and malt. This is followed by a very light warmth of oak spice and a delicate sensation of white pepper. After the warmth of the oak and pepper subsides, a very subtle sweetness remains on the palate, reminiscent of light-colored fruits. I would say it has a short to medium-length, perhaps close to short, finish. |
For an 18 year old, I found him thin. Even with the (only) 40%, the alcohol stands out strongly. In the nose floral notes, in the background rose petals, almost soapy. Then thin and crisp in the mouth. Short finish, far too short. In terms of price-performance ratio, the Green Label is preferable for this brand.
Color: light amber Decent whisky, very drinkable and pleasant, but not very complex. As an 18 year old I would have expected more.
Pleasant and balanced blend. Nose is highly promising but taste and finish does not fulfill the promise. It is still a good, elegant whisky.

| Нос | 80 | It is a very fresh and vibrant nose. You get sour apples, some citric notes especially lime, exotic fruits especially pinapple and kiwi. Nose has a strong sourness to it. You also get some sweets, like a red apple. Some floral notes, white flowers. You can grasp the hint of peat in the form of a light wood smoke if you are careful. In time, sourness fades away. Oak spice and honey replaces it but the fruitiness definitely continues in a more sweeter form. Maybe closer to dried fruits incuded by some sherry finish similar to Aberlour Double Cask? It is a very plesant nose. It may not be extremely striking or strong, but it is elegant and complex. I like it. |
| Вкус | 75 | Good, but not as good as the nose. It is a good balanced blend. Very elegant oily texture. Some fresh fruit sweetness and sourness. Apples, oranges. There is a orange peel bitterness, maybe some apple seeds. Spices; black pepper, cinnamon, very slight cumin. Subtle and elegant oak that does not dominate the palette. I can sense some sherry influence in the form of some dried fruits as the tasting continues. Similar to nose, sourness gets replaced by sherry induced notes. |
| Финиш | 70 | Average. Medium lenght probably due to filtration, blend and %40 abv. Oak, black pepper, orange bitter and peel, some exotic sweetness. |
A little bit disappointing for price. Easy and sweet, very tasty but lacking depth.

Johnnie Walker Gold Label was first created in 1920 to celebrate Johnnie Walker's 100th anniversary. It remains a well-kept secret. The name Gold Label comes from the river where gold was first found in Scotland and which is fed by the spring whose water is also found in this whiskey.

Compared to Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve, this whisky triumphs in every aspect: aroma, alcohol integration, complexity, intensity, and oily texture. Of course, its price is nearly double that of the latter, but to me, it’s still worth buying a bottle to savor.

Sweet and sour, with a bit of spice. Getting nuts, vanilla, citrus oil, honey and cereals. Quite dry and woody oak influence. Quite nice aged easy sipper and typical JW quality signature. For the price however, expected more depth.
